Summary:
Medical Office Assistants manage both patient check in and patient check out functions.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors, assessing their needs and direct them appropriately.
Answer phone as needed.
Verify and/or enter all patient demographic information in the EMR.
Check for necessary referrals.
Have appropriate forms completed, signed, and assemble patient charts.
Schedule patients for office visits, procedures, and other x-rays and tests as requested.
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances at time of visit.
Confirm all patient office visits and procedures which have been scheduled for the next day.
Manage and update patient records.
Maintain the front desk and reception areas.
Capable and able to travel and perform job duties at other Practice Sites.
Must have reliable transportation.

OSHA, HIPAA, Federal Fraud and Abuse laws.
Computer skills good working knowledge of MS office Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize Able to maintain standards and professionalism during periods of fluctuating workloads Provide professional service to direct customers of One GI in all interactions.
Build effective working relationships with other team members.
Manage daily tasks to ensure business needs are consistently met.
Education and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Prior experience working in a front office capacity preferred.

Understand/comprehend English as well as read/follow written English instructions.
Work Environment This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop as necessary.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
