Description The City of Germantown is seeking dependable, dedicated individuals to serve as REACH Activity Assistants responsible for the direct supervision of children at the REACH Extended School site.
The REACH (Recreation-Education-Art-Community-Health) Extended School Program is managed by the City's Parks & Recreation Department and is designed to provide the perfect combination of recreation, education, art, community and health to enrich the educational experience of primary students within the Germantown Municipal School District.

00pm Examples of Duties The Activity Assistant works with Program Leaders under the direction of the REACH Site Director at an assigned location to assist in facilitating extended school programming.
The individual must demonstrate maturity and a sincere interest in working with children; and must be reliable and dependable to work scheduled hours.
Typical duties include:
Implement education and recreational activities, such as arts & crafts, sports, drama, music, etc.
for school-age children (grades K-8) Monitor children activities to ensure a safe and fun environment; follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of children Assist with student disciplinary problems according to established policy Assure all equipment, games and supplies are returned to appropriate storage areas Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in child care, two years of college training (60 hours) and six months experience in child care or a four year degree.
Must be CPR and/or First Aid Certified or the ability to obtain, and posses a valid driver's license.
A background check and physical will be conducted.
Requirements Some experience in child care facilitation Ability to lead group recreational & educational activities for children Ability to engage with both parents and children Ability to maintain positive, effective working relationships Physical ability to perform job duties, including ability to lift up to 40 pounds to set up for programs and events Must be able to work one or both shifts M - F SCHEDULE:
